미국의 맥월드는 어제 이후 고객들이 맥 앱스토어에서 구매한 일부 응용 프로그램이 작동을 하지 않는 문제가 나타나고 있다고 전했습니다. 예를 들어 맥에 설치된 앱을 실행하면 아무런 반응이 없거나 앱이 손상되어 열 수 없다는 메시지가 나온다는 것입니다.
사실 작년에도 맥 앱스토어에 등록된 앱 다수가 실행에 장애를 겪은 바 있습니다. 애플은 앱의 보안인증서 암호화 방식을 SHA-1에서 SHA-2로 변경하고 새로운 인증서를 발급했는데, 인증서를 업데이트하지 않은 앱에서 문제가 발생한 것입니다. 또한 인증서를 발급받았더라도 오픈SSL 구버전을 쓰는 앱은 SHA-2를 사용할 수 없어 같은 문제를 겪었습니다.
이 같은 문제가 발생하자 애플은 고객에게 사과하는 한편, 인증서 암호화 방식을 SHA-1으로 되돌리고 2월 14일부터 다시 새로운 SHA-2 암호화 방식을 시작할 것이라고 공지한 바 있습니다. 또한, 새로운 인증서가 운영체제에서 자동으로 인식되도록 OS X 10.6 스노우 레퍼드부터 10.11 엘 캐피탄에 이르기까지 대규모 업데이트를 올해 초 실시한 바 있습니다.

현재 해당 문제로 불편을 겪고 있는 분은 OS X이 최신 버전인지 확인해 보시기 바랍니다. 무조건 OS X '엘 캐피탄'을 사용해야 하는 건 아니고, 각 OS X 이터테리션(스노우, 매버릭스, 요세미티, 엘 캐피탄)의 마지막 버전을 사용하고 계시면 됩니다. 이미 최신 버전을 사용하고 계시다면 앱 인증 프로세스가 2월 14일에 만료되는 인증서를 폐기하고 새로운 인증서를 인식할 수 있도록 맥을 재시동해야 합니다.
그럼에도 문제가 해결되지 않는다면, 유일한 해결책은 앱을 삭제했다가 맥 앱스토어에서 다시 내려받는 것 뿐입니다. 이때 앱의 설정 파일이나 캐시는 건드릴 필요 없이 응용 프로그램 폴더에 있는 실행파일을 휴지통으로 삭제한 뒤, 휴지통을 비우고, 맥 앱스토어에서 앱을 내려받으면 이전 환경 그대로 앱을 사용하실 수 있습니다.
